Built in 1987 at the Ta Yang shipyard in Taiwan, RV was later shipped to England for deck fittings and rigging before setting sail to Turkey in 1988. After serving her original owner, we became the proud second owners of this vessel in 2018, making her a unique find in today’s market. 
 
RV underwent a comprehensive refit in 2018, following surveyor recommendations, and has since been equipped with numerous upgrades and replacements to ensure optimal performance on the open seas. Notably, the anchor was replaced in 2023 with a 40kg Delta and 100 meters of new 10mm galvanized chain, marked every 10 meters. The bow thruster gearbox and the rigging, including a replacement backstay, were professionally inspected and upgraded in 2018. Moreover, new halyards for the genoa and spinnaker were added in 2023, along with upgraded navigation and sailing lights. The Raymarine auto-pilot was rebuilt in 2023 for reliable navigation. 
 
During our two long voyages on RV, we have experienced a wide range of sea and weather conditions, always feeling safe and secure aboard this magic design of a yacht, often referred to as ‘the greyhound of the ocean’. Her abilities are unmatched, allowing us to sail on all points with an impressive close-hauled angle and achieve regular downwind runs of 190+ nautical miles day after day. Additionally, RV can motor for days at 7+ knots, with a top steaming speed of 9+, ensuring we always reached our destinations, regardless of the conditions.
 
Apart from excellent sailing capabilities, RV offers a comfortable and well-maintained interior. The teak deck was professionally redone in 2018, and the cockpit teak was sanded back in 2023. The hull has been stripped and antifouled in both 2018 and 2023, and all 11 batteries were replaced in 2023.
 
While this boat is in excellent condition, there are some known issues that need attention, such as replacing the sailing instruments and radar. Additionally, there are minor leaks in the aft deck table well and the galley sink tap, and the fresh water tank gauge is not operable. Some cosmetic blemishes on the exterior have been waterproofed, and a new Highfield tender and Yamaha outboard have been added to compensate for the missing dinghy and outboard.
