SV Joshua is a 45-foot cruising sailboat built by Fair-Dinkum in Vancouver, Canada, designed by French naval architect Philipe Subrero. The boat has a beam of 14′ 4″ and a minimum draft of 6′ 5″. The hull and deck are made of solid aluminum, with 5000 and 6000 series aluminum used throughout the construction. The yacht is powered by a single 44 HP inboard diesel engine, and it has a cruising speed of 8 knots. The boat has three staterooms and one head, accommodating up to six people.
 
SV Joshua has a construction designed for strength and safety, with a 1/4″ aluminum plate used for the fin keel, skeg, balanced rudder, and hull. The freeboard is constructed with 3/16″ aluminum plate. The entire hull is coated with a minimum of three inches of grade A fire retardant foam insulation, and a Webasto hot water heating system provides heat during the cooler months. The interior is lined with 1/8″ marine grade mahogany and sealed with S1 to ensure no moisture will not penetrate the wood. 
 
SV Joshua’s deck and cockpit are also made of 1/8″ aluminum plate, and the boat has a hard aluminum dodger, teak cockpit seats and table, and stainless radar arch. The boat is equipped with Autonav Autopilot A-1500, Furuno Nav Net Plotter/Radar, Standard VHF, Horizon Wind speed/direction, and Horizon Multi. The electrical system includes a Heart Link 2000-R inverter/charger, eight 6 volt AGM batteries, and four 85 Watt solar panels. 
 
In terms of sails and rigging, SV Joshua has a Sparcraft mast and boom, a UK Main 2008, Full batten Gary Storch main 2000, North Staysail 2003, Gary Storch genoa, and an Asymmetrical North spinnaker 2003. The boat has a Lewmar Concept electric windlass with foot controls, double bow anchor rollers, and Rocna, Spade aluminum, and Fortress anchors. The cockpit has a sailing awning, and the boat has Lewmar self-tailing winches and power clutches on the cabin top and cockpit combing.
